Sobhiyye a la WAFO

[sob.hiy.ye]: noun, a group of family, friends mostly woman that gather together to chit chat (early morning, while you are still in your PJ's :), gossip, solve political and economical problems, talk about the unfortunate neighbors disease, the fortunate jara that bought a new sofa, the man who died yesterday, the new priest at church, the children, the new married couple how cute they look, yesterday TV serie that some are watching, chou l tabkha today, gaining weight, some old fashioned diet advise, it doesn't stop . They share tears, give advice, laugh loud around turkish coffee with petit four or biscuits. An updated version of sobhiyye consist of the same but in english it becomes a brunch where man'ouche extra becomes a must, croissant, knefe even, it depends on the mood. Setting tawlet l sofra and give more attention to detail. Instead of only gossiping they start crafting, crochet from here, souf from there, aubusson, dentelle bretonne.... the result is magical. Others describe that as healing group therapy, community gatherings, craft night.... we simply call it sobhiyye.

A friend from NADRENALIN - my vintage friend

I think this is the greatest and truest description I've ever heard for a Friend.....
Friends.......They love you, But they're not your lover
They care for you, But they're not from your family
They're ready to share your pain, But they're not your blood relation.
They are........FRIENDS! !!!!

A True friend..... .
Scolds like a DAD.. Cares like a MOM..
Teases like a SISTER.. Irritates like a BROTHER..
And finally loves you more than a LOVER.
The nicest place 2 be is in someone's THOUGHTS!
The safest place 2 be is in someone's PRAYERS!

SCRUMPTIOUS by DD

D is the avant garde one, always on top of things you will be amazed by her ability of MASTERING things. I am not allowed to name them but what i can tell you, just from eating her cookies, she has a GUSTEAU (remember ratatouille :) in her. That is for sure.

MEET Raoul and Louma

Rima's Kids. Raoul is the msakkar raso (from Luanatic), Louma is the walking disaster (from Luanatic)

So.phisticated Rima

Rima has always been the SOphisticated one. I have a vivid memory of the coccinelle bag and carissima shoe, at that time i didn't even know what coccinelle was. She had the ability to just look soooo amazingly graceful. She is the perfectionist one, she can't accept a fault in anything. Her creations are an image of who and how she looks, likes and wants you to be.

Two side ornament

Every night before i go to sleep, I light a candle for my family, and friends, i name them :), calling their names keep them close. They live on the other side of the ocean, i wish them a wonderful life and good health. So I decided to keep the shells and make something out of them someday, the day came, an ornament was born. Each ornament is a dedication to each and every person that touched my life and made it a happier one to live, they are double sided, my side and their side. Decorate with love.

tortellini ala ranyah

I used to watch TOUPIE et BINOU with raoul and louma (my siss kids that i miss so much). Toupie happens to be the most creative character, he can create nonsensical things from his pure imagination. He plays, talks and laugh most of the time. Spaghetti ala tooouuupie was one of his creative dishes, unbelievably inspirational, tortellini ala ranyah was born: bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the tortellini for 5 mn, drain them, place the olive oil, some sun dried tomatoes and black olives in a skillet, then add tortellini, sparkle with oregano and herbes de provence. mmmyummy that is so delicious. Lamloum Rawlini this is for you. Sahtein

C'est Wafo

wafa' has magical hands and can transform the old days boring moune bags into a state of the art ones :) Organic is not a trend it is our grandfathers and ancestors way of living, our job now is to just add some salt and pepper,  make it more contemporary and stylish. You can take off the shelve and hang the bags in your cabinet or even bring a tree into your house like hers :) enjoy

DENIM vase

Me and the wild flowers, it's a love story that started since the 80's. Mom used to take me to the aintoura hill (korne) for the afternoon snack with grace and tante mela. We used to run, pick wild thyme for 3ejje (omelette), anemone, cyclamen, marguerite et coquelicot (i don't know the flowers name in english sorry), eat dabke (lebanese biscuit).
Life was simple at that time.
This vase is a tribute to GRACE :)
