Remember the day we met, it was a saturday afternoon, i was with Diane, we were walking through the garage sale in Bloomfield, everything was half off when i suddenly stumbled on you, i could not stop laughing. It was an Eureka moment, so hilarious, it sounded like a great idea to you to. I am so happy i was able to make your journey a repurposed one. Decorate with fun.

Two side ornament

Every night before i go to sleep, I light a candle for my family, and friends, i name them :), calling their names keep them close. They live on the other side of the ocean, i wish them a wonderful life and good health. So I decided to keep the shells and make something out of them someday, the day came, an ornament was born. Each ornament is a dedication to each and every person that touched my life and made it a happier one to live, they are double sided, my side and their side. Decorate with love.

tortellini ala ranyah

I used to watch TOUPIE et BINOU with raoul and louma (my siss kids that i miss so much). Toupie happens to be the most creative character, he can create nonsensical things from his pure imagination. He plays, talks and laugh most of the time. Spaghetti ala tooouuupie was one of his creative dishes, unbelievably inspirational, tortellini ala ranyah was born: bring a large pot of water to a boil, add the tortellini for 5 mn, drain them, place the olive oil, some sun dried tomatoes and black olives in a skillet, then add tortellini, sparkle with oregano and herbes de provence. mmmyummy that is so delicious. Lamloum Rawlini this is for you. Sahtein

MEGHLI.CEREAL... BOWL

In our middle eastern culture, we welcome a new born by cooking "meghli" (like a pudding with nuts and cococnut on top), yummy very delicious (the recipe will follow with picture). It is like a feast where everyone is here mama, teta, auntie, 3ammto, sister... they all take rounds in stirring :). It is not only the making of, it is also about the show off, you need special containers, stylish ones to welcome the 3ayle, as7ab and l jiran... and the new born. I know you are eager for the recipe and picture i promise i will cook some next week as for the recipe.

1 cup ground rice
5 cups cold water
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon powdered anis
1/2 teaspoon powdered fennel
1/2 teaspoon carawya (buy from ethnic shop, spice kind)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How to make:
Mix the ground rice to a smooth paste with some of the cold water.
Add the sugar, anis, fennel, carawya and cinnamon.
Bring the remaining water to the boil.
Add the ground rice mixture gradually, stirring vigorously with a wood spoon.
Continue stirring until it comes to the boil again, then lower the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until cooked approx 1 hour.
the mixture is cooked when it is thick enough to coat the spoon.
Cool it slightly, pour into individual bowls and refrigerate.
Serve chilled, decorated with coconut, almonds, pine nuts, pistachio

C'est Wafo

wafa' has magical hands and can transform the old days boring moune bags into a state of the art ones :) Organic is not a trend it is our grandfathers and ancestors way of living, our job now is to just add some salt and pepper,  make it more contemporary and stylish. You can take off the shelve and hang the bags in your cabinet or even bring a tree into your house like hers :) enjoy
